  • Minikin 1.5

Hi I purchased my minikin 1.5 a couple weeks ago. I started having problems with the RDA reading. Every new RDA I put on the screen tells me "check attomizer". I've taken apart my tugboat and replaced the 510 pin and put about 5 new coils in and it's telling me the same thing. Not sure what to do, would appreciate some imput. Thank you

    You said every RDA!
    • Please make sure to check a complete different RDA/RTA with your Minikin
    • If you don't have one on hand but you have extra Wire laying around do this: Cut 2 foot (60cm) of Ka/SS. Try to straighten the wire with a drill or two pliers. Then then make a loop where on lead touches the outer 510 rim and the other the inner 510 pin. Hold them in place with your fingers. press the FireButton once. I put some pictures down that you see where I am talking about . It should give you a high resistance reading like 2.5+Ω.
If your device doesn't do that, your Minikin may got liquid inside.

I did that and its still not reading. Is there a way I can take it apart myself and fix it without sending it in?

Sure you can. Prob. juice on the board

I suggest to use a electronic cleaner. Something like http://wd40specialist.com/products/contact-cleaner
Batteries out, spray the board (not the display), let air dry over night. You can use rubbing alcohol but that (can) attacks solder joints. The cleaner is like 5 Bucks or so. If you go the rubbing alcohol route you need to be super careful. Q Tip (not soaked) and clean the juice of the board. when all clean let it sit for a day open to air out. Remember Alcohol is flammable. You can use a hair dryer but I wouldn't on any alcohol substances.
